While many individuals predicted the end of cost erosion for T1 internet connections, it continues to get cheaper. Bandwidth providers are up against much stiffer competitors and are in need for new customers to fill their pipes and turn a net profit. Are you ready to bargain for a rock bottom cost for your service? Before you do, consider a few of the real reasons for the fall in costs on T1 bandwidth.
T1 bandwidth pricing had a reduction in price cost as businesses have gone out of business or bankrupt and a big number of telecommunications businesses are fighting for a place in a much smaller market. While many service providers did have space to lose margin, many have come dangerously close to the edge of selling circuits at a net loss and more than a few have gone even beyond this point. It does seem that in the race to the bottom many providers have failed to understand the lesson that when selling at a net loss it does not create a long and lasting healthy or efficient business no matter how many circuits or widgets you will sell. Many businesses selling at a net loss have already been in bankruptcy protection and it appears that they will repeat this situation as they did not really learn from their first mistakes. So, solvency of the T1 internet service providers should be an absolute consideration when looking for good deals.
Another consideration you need to understand in bargain hunting for T1 Internet is the fact that all T1 Lines are not created as equal. Many T1 providers believe that customers are focused on cost and are not really concerned with the quality of the service provided. Many service providers are over-subscribing T1 connections as if they were DSL connections. What this eventually means is that you may not get the necessary bandwidth you believed you might receive. Please make absolute sure when looking for that cheap T1 line price that you also look at the SLA (Service Level Agreement) and be certain that the contract commitment protects you and will guarantee that you will receive the bandwidth levels to which your provider has committed to. Last but not least, when bargain shopping for T1 service you will in most cases receive what you pay for.
